Welcome to the Annotated Crumbs #4, I'm your host KevinG. Zombies! Yes, friends and coworkers and girlfriends (many of them exes now including wives) alike were sucked into this issue as the living dead, and many other influences were soon rearing their ugly heads. According to the synopsis in the official ApocaParty handout "A group of post-government assassins named “Thumpers” are stalking our survivors... Chuck is foraging, leaving behind his charges, the blind Pat and injured Becky. Mr.Ligg takes him to task, making his first appearance outside of Chuck’s dreams. They are soon attacked by a band of zombies, one of the great threats in the post-apocalyptic wasteland. Chuck dispatches them, finding an old Honda civic. He rescues Pat and Becky from the undead hordes, feeling pretty confident until a long range sniper from the Thumpers hits Chuck in the hand, removing his right ring finger. They must run for their lives."
Ahh, those pesky Thumpers were from a long long ago short story written and drawn in highschool and would soon become major players in the book. The smokey cover of this issue was newly colored by an anime-fueled AI for free, so times sure have changed. And what's this? Chuck's first appendage rendered moot? It's a long way to Tipperary my friends, let's just keep hopping along.
