Welcome to the Annotated Crumbs #5, I'm your host KevinG. Drawn concurrently with Crumbs 6 and an additional book (Simian Vs. Automaton #1), all three were released at APOCAPARTYII. The most ambitious book yet, Crumbs 5 features many new and soon to be favorite characters including Doctor America and Senior Atomico etc etc. The time between issues can be attributed to getting married and being unemployed, but the truth is Crumbs needed a hiatus (and it would have many more to come). Burn out is real my friends. To quote the Crumbs official guide: "A full on war has erupted between survivors and the remnants of a government cadre. We see how it begins: Chuck is bleeding out, his missing finger and blood loss causing him to pull his Civic over and pass out. Luckily a passing survivor takes them in, he is Doctor America, leader of a group of like-minded survivors who have banded together for security. Unfortunately the government has caught up with them, and Chuck awakes, now thinking of himself a rough n tough cowboy named Charlie. The war rages, and Charlie blows away the ex-President, but there is still a giant robot to contend with."
